Dakota
Church Furniture Mfg. of Dickinson, North Dakota was
founded in 1957. We have expanded many times since then as
Dakota continuously improves upon our proven design. Since
the beginning, Dakota has utilized white oak lumber. White
oak is harder, tighter grained, and has more consistent
grain for color than red oak. The majority of our pews are
manufactured with white oak though red oak is used when
specified.

The
pew press, support press, gang saws, contoured planers, and
sander are unique pew manufacturing equipment developed
over 50 plus years of operation. Our proprietary butcher
block system allows us to eliminate slivers, knots, soft
and other undesirable wood in the finished product. The
butcher block design process uses special production
techniques to deliver a flat and super durable back and
seat.

In
addition to white and red oak, we have used maple, walnut,
birch and even juniper for various projects over the
years.
The pew ends and end supports are constructed with 3 ply's
equaling 2 1/4". The pew center supports and cantilever
ends are constructed with 2 ply's equaling 1 1/2" for
maximum stability and durability. The hymnal racks are
solid oak using either a 37" standard or an optional
continuous rack. All of our products are kiln dried to 8%
for uniformity. Industrial strength wood glue is used for
strength and durability. We have the ability to match any
stain colors and the top finish is a high-quality lacquer
for increased hardness.

Dakota
Church Furniture has the unique ability to manufacture
custom pews and chair designs. We have such a high
confidence in our products that we provide a 25 year
warranty on all of our products. This guarantee is possible
because our products are constructed with only solid oak
components and no veneers. In fact, our product will almost
assuredly outlast the warranty by at least 75 years because
solid oak allows the pews to be refinished many times
over.
